What readers thought of Catherine's Gift by John Little
I found this book a wonderful follow up to The Hospital by the River. Wonderful to read the progress and extend of Catherine's work. What she has achieved is an example to us all. Jessie Burrows.
I had read the original book, The Hospital by the River, which was eye-opening. This book, is a beautifully written follow-up, but can be read as a stand-alone book. Not only is it a story of a woman ahead of her time, a surgeon herself in times when this was extremely rare, but of the inspiration she is to so many others. The challenges faced (and met) would daunt anyone, but Catherine has met them all with grace and fortitude. One person truly can make a staggering difference in a world where hope now reigns for those who were once hopeless. Sprocket, NSW.
