Our Joia Shawl is a luxurious heavy shawl, ideal for the changing seasons. It is handwoven in Ethiopia using locally cultivated silk and Ethiopian cotton, and dyed using local plants and herbs. Artisans hand pick mulberry silk threads to create this beautiful pattern. The shawl is finished with traditional tied fringing.

About the Maker
Our textiles supplier is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization and operates a wonderful facility in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where spinners and weavers are employed in a safe, supportive and comfortable environment.
Textiles are hand made using hand-spun cotton and techniques inspired by ancient weaving traditions. All of the dyes are eco-friendly and made of local plants, herbs and natural products.
