Addictive... in a good way

Chocolate. Need we say more!

We are very proud to support Fairtrade cocoa farmers in Ghana through their incredibly addictive (and delicious) chocolate bars with dark, milk and white chocolate options.

These farmers work through a self-managed co-op, with an emphasis on employment for women. They produce premium quality cocoa, and the bars are packaged in the most beautiful wrapping - decorated with 'Adinkra' symbols, each of which has a special meaning in West African culture.

Alex, our CFO and Company Secretary (and not so secret chocoholic), is a big fan of this chocolate.  Alex joined Hamlin after working in a busy corporate environment and he long had an interest in working in the not for profit sector.

"I love working for Hamlin. My efforts as an accountant are truly helping to restore the lives of our patients in Ethiopia. More often than not accountants are busy making or saving money for commercial businesses. I love the fact that there is real purpose to what I do. The rewards of the job are so positive and life affirming. The team at Hamlin are passionate and try daily to reflect the values that Dr Hamlin lives by.

The hardest challenge my role at Hamlin has thrown at me has been dressing up as Santa at the Volunteers Christmas Party.

Divine Fairtrade chocolate would have to be my favourite thing in the Hamlin Shop. I'm a huge chocoholic and can highly recommend the Milk Chocolate with Sea Salt. I feel completely at ease with my addiction knowing that the finest quality cocoa beans (Fairtrade of course) are used, and the profit from the sale of these stellar treats supports our patients, staff and midwives in Ethiopia."
